GERD Linked to Laryngeal Cancer

If you need yet another reason to take your Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) seriously, it has now been linked to laryngeal cancer. In the study people with GERD are twice as likely to develop cancer of the larynx than those without. If you smoke and have GERD (smoking is considered a main cause of GERD) you are six times more likely.

GERD has long been linked to esophageal cancer. Specifically adenocarcinoma of the esophagus, occurs most commonly with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). This cancer is increasing in frequency. You can learn more about it GERD and esophageal cancer here .
